Did any of you ever watch Jimmy Neutron as a kid? Do you remember his dog, Goddard?

I’m making something a little similar. He can’t fly ,or talk, or think, or light up or even move, but it still has the feel of somewhat of an industrial themed animal. Basically, the inspiration came from a valve with two gauges on it that kind of looked like a puppy face.

After that, I just had to salvage the rest of the pieces: ducting for the body, another valve for a tail, and some suspension springs for the legs. We’ll see how it turns out, I think he’ll be kind of fun.

I thought about it a little bit more, and the industrial components made into a living thing could serve as a commentary on how removed we’ve become from living things due to technology…

I used to love Jimmy Neutron as a kid and always wanted to try and make some of the creations that he made in the show! Even though it is not exactly the same, it is definitely a fun project and will have an amazing aesthetic. I would really love it if it were somehow possible to make his brain cavity light up like crazy like Goddard’s did in the show, but I understand it would be pretty difficult since it basically looks like multi-colored lightning!

This is an interesting idea. I often see faces in sinks, where the knobs are eyes, the faucet is a nose, and the sink is an open mouth. I could see bent tubing being used for a variety of parts, like a tail or facial details.
