Anfal’s top five constrains

My top five constrains are:

  • Integration of sensors,  motors and fabric how far it can be pretty and functional.
  • Aesthetic – what is my genre? do I belong to one, is it fine if I don’t or should I start looking for one to identify with?
  • We talked in class today about the fine line in human embodiment between being attractive or creepy so that got me thinking that this might actually impose a constrain on my project.
  • Sensor – means bigger size project and more complex sensor (e.g. motion).
  • Creativity – where me as an engineer and designer come in

It’s interesting how your constraints are evenly divided between the technical aspects and aesthetics. And then in the middle you have the uncanny valley concept as a benchmark for making something that is humanistic and technically compelling yet not unsettling. I think your approach is a good way to balance design intent.
