My project has progressed somewhat. I changed the wooden design to an acrylic design due to the pattern being complex enough that the woodshop expected it to take 80 hours to make. I laser cut 2 sides out, but in the process of knocking out the holes, 1 frame broke. As a result to this occurrence and my budget limiting me from buying more acrylic, I changed my design to have 3 walls total. 2 walls would be wood and the last being the acrylic face I already made. I have cut most of the wood to size, made holes in it, and spray-painted it black.
I am now looking for adhesive for the acrylic and screws for the wood/swivel from Home Depot. I found a few corner L brackets to use for connecting the wood.

Necessity is the mother of invention, I think the mix of acrylic and wood Is very cool. I think also having metal L brackets will be even more interesting. is the acrylic transparent? I think having a transparent acrylic in addition to all mentioned about + the fact that you design is cubic, it seem like a very cool aesthetic in my opinion. Although I still think it is worth it to brainstorm few ideas for add the 4th wall at low or no cost. I know the time is critical now but maybe adding a piece of fabric or a little painting on a paper would enhance the aesthetic. All in all, I’m looking forward to see your project at the expo!
Glad to hear its progressing along despite some hiccups. Can you sue the contrast between the wood and acrylic materials in a neat way to add to your aesthetic? I hope you’ve checked out the makerspace seems like josh may be able to lend some expertise. Also there is all kind of glue in the itll prototype room.
