When we started the upcycle project I immediately knew that I wanted to add something to my apartment. In my bathroom I thought about how ugly the target tissue box was and I thought I can make a cover for it. So using an old Christmas gift box some paint and some old blank CDs I intend to make a tissue box cover.

I have been really into art deco patterns recently so I am planning on cutting up the CDs and decorating the box once the black paint and sealant have dried. Below are pictures of my materials, preliminary sketches, what I have done so far and the pattern I am thinking of producing .

    Hi Olivia!
This is a really cool idea of you to use this project for something that you wanna change in your apartment. I feel like it is going to be so catchy and shiny ! I am still curious if you found a way to cut the CD’s?

Hi Olivia! This is a really neat idea that I’ve never heard of. The art-deco idea with the recycled CDs is inspired (who uses CDs anymore?!)! And the reflexive nature of them means that the tissue box cover will look different in different lighting situations! I’m curious about if you plan to color any of the pieces differently? Will you choose different patterns for different sides? Why did you choose black for the box paint? Nice idea!
