Main Project Inspirations

While browsing some stores one afternoon I came across this clock that was completely different from anything that I have ever seen before.

The image was taken from www.wayfair.com. I like the aesthetic of this clock from an engineering aspect. Seeing all of the internal gears gives it a very industrial look. I would like to re create a clock like this but with a steam punk aesthetic to it. I think that this project will be challenging and allow me to utilize some resources that I haven’t used in awhile such as arduino code and the laser cutter.

Super cool. I am very excited to see the final product. I think doing the mates in solidworks could be interesting and possibly quite difficult but definitely doable! Good luck!

I really like the picture of the clock that’s inspired your project! It has a cool minimalist approach that I personally love. I like how you pointed out the fact that the clock lets you see all the engineering behind the scenes that most clocks don’t allow you to see. I would imagine that building a clock might be pretty difficult though, do you have any previous experience making clocks/ working with gears?
