Skill Sets and Personal Aspirations

I am a master student in Mechanical Engineering. This is my first semester. Before this I was working a Rockymounts as a product engineer. Working there I got a lot of experience with designing plastic, aluminum and steel parts. However I was having a hard time doing industrial designs. I think this is a common problem for lots of ME students, too. The feature image is a hitch rack that I designed when I was at Rockymounts. My personal aspirations are to learn more skills at industrial designing and being able to come up with not just functional, but also eye-catching designs.

  • I’m so glad we are in the same class. Your industry participation and commercial design experience is quite unique and valuable for this course. If you could introduce the real industry design process and skill to us, it will be magnificently advantageous for all of us

It is great that you had a job that helped developing a lot of your skills. I like your feature image and I hope that it helps you in your final project. You seem very motivated to learn industrial design. I agree with you, I think a lot of ME students have a hard time with it too (including myself).
