Summing Up 2019

This class gave me a new perspective on how I see things around me. I always believed that I had an artistic eye for things, however, I never cultivated my skills by studying art. Whatever I knew was self-taught. After this class, I am happy to say that I, now, know how to distinguish between different aesthetics and identify where they lay in the aesthetics timeline. I also find it interesting to read about designers and how they developed what appeals to them. After learning so much about aesthetics and design, my next step is to explore/create my own aesthetic combination while still making projects that I can use or display around me.

The two projects I worked on for this class are the Upcycling project and the Main project. I chose to work fabric for my upcycle assignment and shadow art for the final project. During both projects, I have learned that bringing your ideas and design concepts to life is harder than it seems. Sometimes many ideas will pop into my head that would take the project to the next level, however, the execution will be so much harder given the time/budget constraint. I am pleased with both of my projects and I am proud to call them mine.
