To talk about my progress for the upcycle project, I am currently reviewing a lot of design aspects and needs for the folding table. I realized the needs as follows: Reclining, Height adjusting, Ergonomic enough to work on it whatever the base is, holder for cell phones, attachments to keep important things like charger, cords, files etc. Working on materials, I have decided to go ahead with cardboard, as it is easy to form a shape and prototype. If anything goes wrong, procuring more cardboard won’t be a problem as it is readily available and it is cheap as well. I am yet to procure the material, which I’ll do in a day or two, and then start making the table based on the ideas that I have sketched.

Hi Sarthak!
Were you planning on finishing the table in any way? For example, with cardboard, one could paint or plasti-dip the cardboard to match a desired aesthetic. With your aesthetic being ‘robotic’, I feel that some sort of finishing might be something to think about. This project is definitely a cool idea!
Hey Sarthak,
I think cardboard would be an interesting material to use for a table. It does however, bring a lot of questions about the sturdiness and rigidness of the table. Also what if a liquid was spilled onto it. Wouldn’t the cardboard just soak into the cardboard and ruin the table? Other than that, I’m excited to see what you come up with!
