Top 5 Constraints 2020

My top 5 constraints:

  1. Too much money. Normally, disc golf carts run around $280 and they do not offer much creativity.
  2. Manufacturing; I am not the best at welding and so I will have to look for alternative ways to build my cart
  3. Functionality; with only a couple of weeks to design, manufacture, and tweek; getting a prototype to work well and last for a long time will be challenging.
  4. Getting an aesthetic across; normally this is not that hard, but since the cart is not much more that a frame, it will be difficult to come up with ways to clearly depict a certain aesthetic.
  5.  Durability; I want to be able to take this on all the course that I play on throughout Colorado, and soon across the US. I want my project to hold up throughout all weather conditions and still work well.

    Joseph,

This is a really cool project and I am excited to see how it turns out. In terms of your constraints, I think if you seek the council of the ITLL staff they could really help overcome the challenge of welding, as well as weatherproofing your project.

Joseph: Great analysis of your situation! I’m excited to see how you work through some of these constraints. I’d encourage you to look into learning welding through the Idea Forge as using a material that is weldable will ensure some of the strength you’re looking for as well. Threaded pipe might also be a decent idea. Good luck!
