Wilderness Log Cabin Build Video

I stumbled upon this video of a man building a traditional log cabin out in the wilderness a little while ago. I think it is very fun to watch and see how the process works of him gathering materials, working with them, and slowly – log by log – building a house from these natural materials. I thought it played into this class well as he documents well his design process and the aspects of construction. It’s also just a very fun and relaxing video to watch as we get to see a structure come out of nothing and made from little more than simple hand tools. Very cool!

  • Hi Davis,

This is a really cool video. I like the lack of talking which makes it very enjoyable to sit back and enjoy the process. I also enjoyed how it was more than just the actual building, but more of a life-style choice. The animals, food, and even just the scenery gives the video so much more. It made it even more enjoyable to watch.

    Davis,
This is an awesome video! While I only watched 20 minutes out of the hour and a half, it is seriously cool. I really appreciate the lack of sitting around and talking to the camera and instead just getting to work. The end result is really impressive given the tools that he was using, I don’t think I could even come close to building something like that in twice as much time. I obviously enjoy these types of videos because I posted a similar one myself.

Did you channel any of the rugged / outdoorsman aesthetics in your own project?
