Heart Rate LED Monitor by Shohei Hara

Project Description

For my project, I chose to continue the upcycling theme and made an LED light that detects your heart rate and pulses red LEDs at the same frequency. The LEDs are mounted into an old engine valve cover.

I got the inspiration for this project from furniture that people make out of old engine parts. I originally wanted to create a lamp, but I wanted something a little bit more dynamic. I decided to make the device also detect your heart beat, similar to “heart beat drums” that others have made.
