Project Inspiration

I am going to be honest with you all, and myself right now. I do not have an idea for my final project. I have a few rough concepts floating around in my head, no no single idea that will count as something for the final project. A few design aesthetics that I like are minimalistic, smooth and rounded, and also something functional.

I also really like something that serves a purpose. I don’t want to make something if it won’t do anything besides just look nice. I also really enjoy play on words, so I hope to incorporate that into my project. It might also be really cool to do something modular that the user can customize for his/her needs. Much like Tiffany Tseng said yesterday, her designs don’t come from an “ah-ha” moment, but rather from a culmination of thoughts that lead her to a design. I think that is what will end up happening for me with my project.

  • I like the clean look of the minimalist aesthetic. I think it would be really cool if you could incorporate that into your project. Sometimes the project won’t be fully defined before you start it, and that’s okay! Look back at our design loop, how we had the iterative process. Your project will will become more defined as you improve upon design iterations. Good luck and I can’t wait to see what you come up with.

  • Thanks for being honest that you don’t have a specific inspiration. Personally I think you don’t have to have one. Thoughts are a good start. I think a lot of great innovations turn up from random thoughts. However, try to put your thoughts into action sooner than later specially that we have deliverables with deadlines in the class. Please let us know if we can help. Good luck coming up with an idea for a customizable modular that fits different needs. That would be awesome!
