Immersion Wheel Progress Update

I wasn’t impressed with the moire effect produced by two perforated steel plates. Even after painting them with vibrant colors, they had a dark heavy look to them. So I’ve pivoted toward acrylic to allow more creative freedom in etching a specific motif. I’ve been working on a design that is a hybrid of sacred geometry and the moire effect. Using acrylic will also allow more dynamic lighting effects. Overall, I think the change in direction will result in a more compelling visual experience.

You can do a lot of cool things using sacred geometry. It might be possible to try out different patterns easily by cutting out design on sheets of paper. I think using acrylic will look really cool too.

Do you have a means of simulating this? Is there some predictive model of how this stuff behaves? It all looks like black magic to me. I have seen designs though that incorporate some very sophisticated animation.
