Main Project Inspirations: Sit/Stand Desk

I’m still not 100% set on what I want to do for my final project but my main idea at the moment is to make a sit/stand desk. I’ve always been a pretty restless person when it comes to working while sitting down for a really long time so making something that makes my life easier and my work more productive sounds like a great use of my time. It is also something I can innovate with and something I can make look really nice. The adjustable aspect to the desk also creates a great dynamic feature for my project. Here are some examples of what inspired me for this project. Currently I’m deciding whether to create the project out of wood or metal or even some kind of hybrid with possibly the wood as the frame and the metal as the adjuster.

I like that this project has such a useful end product. This is such a good idea and I hope that it came out and you can use it all the time.

This is a great project, I had one of these this summer at my internship and I loved it. I defiantly felt more productive in the afternoon when I could get up on my feet! What do you plan to do for aesthetics? Could defiantly do some cool word burning or carving!

I could really use one of these desks too! What a cool project! What mechanism do you plan to use to keep the desk raised to a particular height? Will yours be able to raise to arbitrary heights, or particular height settings? Do you plan to manufacture all of the components, or use some off the shelf? I am excited to see how it comes out!
