Alright, it’s go time. I’ll be honest, I did absolutely nothing for this project over break. But, I look forward to finishing my project within the next couple weeks. In order to finish on time, I have set out the following timeline to set deadlines and keep me on track. You might note that I aim to have the project done by the 19th, this is so I have plenty of time to incorporate any last minute adjustments before expo.
By Friday 4/7/2017 — Order the materials that I will need to develop my own catan board. This includes the wood that I will be engraving into the Catan Board, the dice for the game, and the Pop-Set materials to create a dice roller.
By Monday 4/10/2017 — Begin the design process for the board on Solidworks and Corel Draw.
By Wednesday 4/12/2017 — Have the design for the Catan board done within Solidworks and Corel Draw. This includes all of the hex pieces, the border made of water pieces, and the natural design within the hex pieces that will allow players to know which hex corresponds to which resource.
By Friday 4/14/2017 — Hit up the ITLL project depot and laser cut the engraving into the wood board.
By Monday 4/17/2017 — Create a design for a device that will roll a pair of dice by applying pressure. The design must keep the dice separate from the board so that it will not interfere with any of the pieces on the board.
By Wednesday 4/19/2017 — Have a finished design. At this point I want to be able to complete my design process and come to a point where I will ask myself what I can improve upon.
By Friday 4/21/2017 — Finish the improvements and begin writing up the final report.
&&& Voila, a fun project comes to a close.
