Project Aesthetics Compared to 20th Century: Origami Pop-Up Book

I think my final book will have a very symbolic aesthetic, as it is difficult to create fine details with origami. Simple shapes and colors will represent places, people, and things. For this blog post, I played around with different aesthetics for my project.

To start things off clean and simple, I portrayed the book in the Bauhaus aesthetic. It is just a practical book.

Then things got romantic. I considered that the entire book could be a curvy wavy ribbon in the style of Art Nouveau. The natural curves are very indicative of the romantic aesthetic.

With the last aesthetic, I worked outside of the box, even out of this world! I envisioned the book being a 3D planet with windows cut out of the surface with scenes depicted. Paper planes orbit the planet and could be unfolded to reveal more scenes.

I like that you were thinking out of the box for this post. I have very limited exposure to the world of origami but I think that trying to incorporate some of these aesthetics in the final product would add something special to the final piece.
