Main Project Inspirations

For my final project, I want to channel the aesthetic of neon signs. Typically when I see neon signs, they are the focal point of the room or display they are featured in and this is something I want to incorporate into my project. When looking into more neon signs for inspiration, I found the image above and I really like the way the flowers look around it because the contrast between the neon sign and the nature aesthetic is striking in a way. I know for my project I want to make some type of organization display, but want to incorporate the light aesthetic. I began my upcycle project in a similar manner. I knew I wanted to incorporate a light aspect with the night sky aesthetic that I love so much.

In addition to the aesthetics mentioned above, I am also drawing inspiration from the high tech aesthetic that we discussed in class. I like the matte black contrasted with the bright lights of the screens and I think this could look really nice with something used for organization because it looks sharp and clean.

This is a great idea for a dynamic project! My Grandpa used to own a bar and have neon signs all over. They obviously are pretty hard to make and pretty hazardous but if you were to incorporate a new style of lighting it would be very creative!

Wonderful idea! I think it would be awesome if you code the lights into different words for everyday of the week! I look forward to see your final project. Good luck!

Hello Danielle, I think this is a great idea for your final project. It would be really cool if you could build the sign directly into the organizer. You could cover it with some kind of clear material so you could still use the space where it is located and it does not interfere with your organization device
