Design Review Part 1: Detailed Plans for Hedgehog Phone Case

For the final project of this class, I’m creating a hedgehog phone case with minimalism style.

I didn’t get to present in class, but here is the slides if anyone wants to check it out:

I had this super rough 3D model in the presentation, which I still need to refine.

But the basic idea is shown, that I plan to use spikes at the back of the phone case to mimic the hedgehog fur.

Ideally, because of the design, it will create a uncomfortable experience for the users.

I’m pretty concerned about how I will make the final product, since ITLL is shut down and there’s limited fabrication machine resource on campus.

There are a few solutions: Maybe I’ll try to order the fabrication of 3D printing the model online, or I’ll see if I can build something with moldable material by hand.

This is such a cool idea for this project, is there a reason behind no wanting it to be comfortable for the user? Can’t wait to see how it turned out!

This is definitely an interesting concept. What material are you planning on using for the case?
