After searching for materials, I created an artifact in the Pretotyping stage using felt, pipe cleaners, Lego gears, and glue. I sourced these materials from the Idea Forge Pretotyping collection. The artifact resembles the in-game artifact flower called the Marechaussee Hunter. I did my best to replicate its appearance, but I aim to elevate the design further with dedicated time. I hope to complete it soon. Below are some glimpses of the artifact that are similar to the one in the game.
For the next part of my project, I plan to use baking clay to achieve the desired rigidity and shape for the artifact. Once it’s formed, I can enhance the details with spray paint or oil paint. Additionally, incorporating some gemstones will add aesthetic appeal to the flower.
Finally, I decided to purchase baking clay for the final design of my flower artifact because I couldn’t find the right type of clay that offered the necessary rigidity, except for oil-based clay. However, oil clay tends to wear off or break when assembled. The oven-bake clay I chose is polymer clay, which is a soft and easy-to-use crafting material made from non-toxic synthetic ingredients, making it extremely versatile. After baking it in the oven, I can easily incorporate it with the earrings.
