This is a Japanese tatami-style bed I made for my cat out of a reclaimed pallet. I used the upcycle project as an opportunity to practice and further explore my skills in Japanese joinery — a craft I deeply enjoy for the way it bridges functionality and visual beauty. There’s something compelling about a practice where the structure itself becomes the aesthetic, and this project was a chance to explore that intersection on a small, personal scale.
