This project explores the contrast between tradition and innovation by combining leather with a modern techwear aesthetic. By using features like RFID-blocking, a monochrome palette, and sharp geometric forms, the design reimagines leather as a more technical, contemporary material.
I chose to create a passport wallet for my summer travels. While waiting on materials, I made a CAD-based paper template so I could print it to scale and be ready to begin fabrication.

After transferring the template to leather, I hand-punched holes and stitched the wallet together. Installing the zipper was the most difficult part, as it was hard to align and kept coming off track, but it was resolved with adjustments.

I’m very happy with how the wallet turned out. The process involved a lot of problem-solving and helped me successfully combine traditional craftsmanship with a modern design approach.
