I am a senior mechanical engineer like many other people in the class and I think the strongest skill I have developed over the years is in computer aided design (SolidWorks).  Other skills include:

  • Machining
  • Wood working
  • Soldering
  • Basic programming (Arduino, Python…)
  • Music (I love playing and listening to music)
  • Sketching

I have also developed some skills outside of engineering.  I started a student group that plays Gaelic sports 3 years ago and have been running it ever since.  From that I have experience in financial management, fundraiser organization, funding proposals, event organization, skill development, and I’m also a certified Gaelic sports trainer.

I also love to brainstorm and develop ideas so if you need help coming up with a final project I can help!

I can also brew a mad cup of tea

I think it would be really fun to make a project centered around an interactive musical instrument type thing, so I would love to get your thoughts and ideas about something like that. What do you play? Also, wood working/machine shop skills are definitely things I am interested learning more about, so any help in that area would be much appreciated!

  • Looks like your skill set encompasses a broad range of topics, which should be useful for whoever comes to you for help! It’s good that you have some organizational skills in addition to your engineering skills, since a project will fail if things aren’t organized and don’t get done.
