Personal Aesthetic and Design Inspirations

Leatherman Featured image from Ikea.com I believe that my personal aesthetic is very dynamic. I think it draws a lot from my personality and my interests. I am very passionate; you get me started talking about something I am interested in and I will go for hours. This leads me to appreciate putting effort into things, so I appreciate putting some effort into wearing clothes that look good and work well together. I am known amongst my friends for doing it right if I am…

Main Project Plans and Inspirations

For my final project, I have a vision of creating a wristwatch and its aesthetic would be heavily inspired from Art Nouveau and Clockpunk aesthetics. Art Nouveau was a movement that emerged in the late 19th century and was popular in the early 20th century. It is characterized by its organic, flowing lines, and decorative elements inspired by nature. The movement’s aim was to combine art and design to create a total work of art, with a focus on craftsmanship and quality. The project’s use…

Cargorider Part 1: Inspiration, Vision, and Plans

It’s been a busy last week. Only six days ago I bought two donor bikes, both old and crusty, a mountain bike and a kids bike. The goal was to combine the two into a cargo bike with a show chopper or lowrider bike aesthetic. After a lot of grinding, welding, polishing, paint, and more polishing, the Cargorider lives. The inspiration for the Cargorider came from a few directions. The ‘cargo’ portion came from studying in Denmark last semester, most Copenhageners bike everywhere, and…

Main Project Plans and Inspiration – Creating a Personalized Lithophane Lamp

For my final project, I decided to combine my passion for woodworking, 3D printing, and electronics to create a personalized wooden MDF structure with six individual lithophane sides. A lithophane is an object that, when illuminated from behind, reveals a detailed image. The inspiration for this project came from my love for personalized and unique home decor items. I wanted to create a piece that would not only look great in my home but also be meaningful and special. I thought of combining woodworking, 3D…

Main Project Plans and Inspiration – Interactive Chess Board

[1] A knight’s possible moves highlighted on chess.com   Recently, I’ve been heavily addicted to Chess.com, and while my vice may be a consistent daily distraction, it also serves as the inspiration for my main project! In particular, a feature I admire about playing chess online is the accessibility for new players getting involved in the game. When you select a piece, the board lights up the possible squares you can move it to, making it very easy for players to understand the limitations of…

Blog Post 6: Main Project Plans and Inspiration

For my project, my aesthetic inspiration is colorful maximalism. This aesthetic is a huge part of my everyday life in both the clothes I wear and how I have decorated my personal space. Something I enjoy incorporating into my daily outfits are decorative and colorful sunglasses. For  my project, I plan create a pair of sunglasses, made out of reused craft materials. While functionality is still a goal, my main focus is on the color choices and unique fit to the face. Image Source: https://www.okcool.io/unhinged-fashion-girlies…

Post 6: Main Project & Personal Aesthetic

In relation to having a personal aesthetic, I would say it depends on the day. Some days I appreciate very muted tones and others I like bold and exotic patterns. For example, I bought a couch last year, it was red with white polka dots. I recently purchased a couch cover that is black and white with geometric shapes all over it. So again, it depends. Overall though, I’d say I gravitate towards a very modern or clean aesthetic. You could say organized chaos. The…

Magical Heartbeat Tree: A Fantasy World Experience

It’s exciting to work on projects that take you to fantastical settings. A magical gateway is a tree that lights up and is powered by an Arduino board. The project involves creating a tree that uses LED lighting and a heart rate sensor to respond to the user’s heart rate. Programmable LED ropes will be used on the tree’s trunk, while colorful LEDs will be used on the foliage. I was inspired by a special tree in Oslo that drew my eye as a fervent…

Main Project Plans and Inspirations

The plans for my main project don’t really involve my personal aesthetic too much other than my enjoyment of floral design/ nature. For my main project I plan to embed LED strips into vertical CNC milled grooves in a rectangular piece of wood I have. I will program the LED lights using an arduino microcontroller so when a person walks up to the installation a sensor triggers an LED sequence that mimics a waterfall behind the moss. In addition to the LED lights creating a…

Main Project Plans and Inspirations

My personal aesthetic is generally to keep things simple or minimal. I like clothing that can be used for multiple things without much text or logos. I like a simple workspace and room, and I like natural colors in my spaces, and love the look of minimalist modern art in my decorations. I think my personal aesthetic draws on minimalism certainly, but I grew up around a lot of cubism work, and have always enjoyed Bauhaus. I think my main project will stick with this…

My Aesthetics and A Sci-Fi inspired small robot.

I have been always gravitated towards the good old Sci- Fi stories be it classic books or movies; I loved the future robots depictions and their transformative roles in human life. And at some point when I was old enough to understand that however afraid we (humans) are of robots running the world – they are indeed inevitable to the part of our human civilization evolution. Growing up reading sci-fi books like I, Robot by Isaac Asimov; 2001: A Space Odyssey, etc has been pretty cool…

Main Project Plans and Inspirations

For my own personal aesthetic, I have had considerable trouble trying to figure it out and decide. However, I have always been interested in two major themes: organic architecture and engineering. I have always been interested in these 2 topics and a while ago I discovered kinetic sculptures. One of my favorite artists is Theo Jansen, a Dutch artist famous for making Strandbeest. “Theo Jansen is engaged in creating new forms of life: the so-called strandbeests. Skeletons made from yellow plastic tube (Dutch electricity pipe)…

Personal Aesthetic and Main Project Plans

When I think about my personal aesthetic, I think of the way that I dress. I’d like to think that I dress pretty nicely; and I’ve had friends compliment my style, even if I’m just wearing Adidas track pants and a simple hoodie. To summarize, they say that there’s a certain air of coolness, and that I make anything look good. I do take care in choosing what I wear, so I’d like to believe this is true. How I dress is one of the…

Personal Project Plans and Inspiration.

I have always been fascinated with light and shadows. It has intrigued me that just changing the positioning of the light source over a physical model can create different shadows and effects. I am not exactly sure with the aesthetic I will be following but I think I’m leaning to wards sculptural. To add to this complexity I ant to attempt to make the physical model amorphous.  Anamorphosis, in visual arts, is an ingenious perspective technique that gives a distorted image of the subject presented…

Main Project Inspirations and Aesthetic

A camping set up similar to what I want to build. Source: https://truckvault.com/DIY-truck-camper I think my personal aesthetic is pretty simple, with heavy influence from nature and the outdoors. Function is another factor that heavily influences my personal aesthetic. I don’t have too many decorations and those that I do have are nature inspired. I think this is due to my desire for things to be functional. If I don’t have a use for something I don’t want it to be taking up space. A…

Main Project Plans and Inspiration

For my main project I want to implement an iris mechanism into a table. An iris mechanism is similar to what is used in a camera aperture that opens in a circular pattern. I want the top of the table have a rim that you can spin, and when you spin it, the center will open and an inner compartment will rise up and fill the center hole. I’m working on designs and trying to find examples of people who have done similar things for…

Final Project Plans And Inspiration

After a lot of thought, I have finally narrowed down to two ideas for my final project, but I’m still undecided about them. I’ve always been fascinated by nature and the outdoors, and I’m also really passionate about music. So, I wanted my project to be either one of these interests. My first idea is to create a vertical garden clock. I want to combine a minimalist aesthetic with a nature-inspired theme. I haven’t quite figured out how the clock will look, but I know…

Chopper risers and electrical covers

Thats me in my daily outfit, I’ve worn those jeans nearly every day for a year, put a white t shirt on top and you’ve got George. I’ll call my personal aesthetic a mix of DIY and classic. I like things that are tried and true, but also leave room for expression and individual freedom. I like old school tattoos, motorcycles, and music. Anything that’s a little punk rock. For my final project I’ll try to bring those characteristics to a few products for my…

Main Project Plans and Inspiration: Saturn V Lego Display

For my final project, I want to build a mount for a Saturn V Lego rocket model. I have recently come into the possession of a 39in tall Lego model of a Saturn V rocket. First I’ll have to build a rocket, but I want to make a stand for it that can hold it upright in the vertical position and that can can keep it secure. To do this I was thinking of making it out of acrylic with supports around the base nozzles…

Personal Aesthetic, Main Project Plans, Inspirations

.   As far as personal aesthetics are concerned, I am a bit of a utilitarian. If something functions well as intended, any aesthetic design choices are secondary and free to follow the designer’s whims. When design choices sacrifice function in favor of chasing a particular aesthetic, it seems to me a poor, perhaps even negligent choice. This thought process is certainly a product of how I was introduced to visual arts growing up. I used to hold the concept of anything pursuing a particular…

Minimalism – Main Project Plans

Thinking of my personal aesthetic I have always sought my appearance to match my simplistic and minimalistic personality. In regards to clothing, I have always leaned towards natural tones and a style that seems minimalistic yet focuses on the smaller details. Although I disagree with his personal opinions,  One of my favorite fashion designers is Kanye West, simply due to his creative and sophisticated taste when it comes to fashion.   Yeezy Season 6 Lookbook Kanye’s designs always seem natural yet there is always some…

Personal Aesthetic and Project Idea

Its difficult to sum up my personal aesthetic because it includes aspects of many types of other aesthetics. What initially pops in my head is the types of outfits I pick out daily.Currently my clothing would likely fall under a casual streetwear aesthetic; slim fit jeans, a t-shirt, vans or sneakers,  a hat and a hoodie. I’m colorblind and matching is something I have always struggled with so I tend to stick to blue, black, white, and grey clothing because they all go fairly well…

Personal Aesthetic and Main Project Plans

One of my main personal aesthetics is minimalism. I am drawn towards designs and styles that prioritize simplicity, functionality, and a focus on essential elements. I believe this style is inspired by past personal projects and my general interest of engineering. I feel that a lot of complex designs focus entirely on the function and the look or style follows later. I think the style that follows from these types of designs is generally minimalism as there are no extra elements that do not add…

Main Project Plan and Inspirations

For my final project, I had a few ideas come to mind when thinking about things I’ve seen recently. The first was while I was at a restaurant in Todos Santos over winter break, and I saw this handmade chandelier out of steel and rope when I looked up. My initial idea for my final project was to create a dynamic rope and steel structure that would spin either individual levels or a single level with a quiet low, power electric motor. My goal…

Main Project Idea and Inspiration

The aesthetic of my final project is a tranquil and whimsical. My project will have the elements of nature and fairy tale. I chose this aesthetic because it brings me peace and makes a space more homie. I wanted to create a personal project that I can have forever. For my project, I want to create a dynamic mirror that is made of 3 panels that are shutters. They close and open. I got the inspiration from this mirror in Kendall Jenners Home. I find…

Main Project Plans and Inspirations

For my main project I plan on constructing a deer mount out of MDF using a laser cutter similar to the image below. My main motive for this project is that I had this idea around 8 or 9 years ago but I didn’t have enough knowledge or resources to do it. Then a couple years ago I saw an ad on instagram and someone had the same idea but was actually able to do it and now they sell them at large corporations such…

Main Project Plans : Modern Light Fixture

For my main project, I plan to create a lighting stand with modern influences and characteristics. I found inspiration online through different lighting fixtures and would ideally like to recreate one of the designs below. I believe these designs all encompass modern characteristics like sleek and clean surfaces and metal materials. As this project and item need to be dynamic, I would really like to make the light functional and even place it in my living room if it turns out how I envision it.…

Final Project: Antique Escapement Mechanisms

A design element that I have always found to be particularly interesting is exposed gearing. Something about how intricate and detailed exposed-gear designs are has always fascinated me! So, as I had this at the back of my mind for my final project I was drawn to escapement mechanisms. For those who are unfamiliar, escapement mechanisms are typically used in clocks because they allow for timing control. This is done by creating a mechanical linkage which can stop the rotation of a gear which is…

Hunter Maul – Main Project Plans and Inspirations

When thinking about my personal aesthetic, it is difficult for me to pinpoint one that perfectly describes me. Throughout my life, I have gone through so many different phases where I have been influenced by so many unique things. There have however remained a few constant forces throughout that have influenced me more than others. One thing that has always had a big impact on me and my design work is nature. Having grown up in Colorado, I spent much of my childhood outdoors exploring…

Main Project Plan: Wood Bathymetric Map

I am fascinated with topography and cartography. I waste too much time perusing google maps looking for interesting things in places I am intimately familiar with or have never been. The lay of the land and how that influences human ideals and settlements. Besides the particle benefits, humans are drawn to mountains and water. I have 3D printed a topographic map of Boulder and the surrounding mountains and pour over its detail of where I have been and how the land formed that way. I…

Main Project Plan and Personal Inspiration // Heider Iacometti

For my main project, I would like to create a flower that opens when it’s dark out, and closes when it’s bright. It’s a moonlit flower. I chose this design idea as a way of integrating the beauty of “nature” into the night as well. For the most part, plants are the most active and interesting during the day because they photosynthesize. I would like to change that simply for the potential beauty in it. The night is naturally so beautiful, and the moon only…

Aesthetic and Project Plan: Minimalist Visuals Installation

As a visual artist and filmmaker, I’ve always had the desire to create a largish installation of some sort. I’ve thought of ways to display video works on a larger scale than just a computer or phone screen. I’ve been fascinated by large led screens like the ones in Times Square or even the CASE building here at CU. I think this is a crazy cool way to display art or moving pictures. It also makes a statement. LED Visuals Installation This longtime curiosity led…

Main Project Plan and Inspirations

Naturally, as a mechanical engineering student I have a love for mechanical devices. I enjoy playing with gears and building blocks, which is why my aesthetic is going to be my best attempt at steampunk. Steampunk is an aesthetic that revolves around 19th century steam powered machinery. The time period often takes place during the Victorian era (1820 – 1914). In steampunk you see very complicated machinery with exposed supports, pipes, and  gears. My goal is to create a mechanical, rotating, watch holder. I am…

Personal Aesthetic & Main Project Plan

I wouldn’t say I necessarily have a personal aesthetic. It enjoys a lot of different and opposite aesthetics and implement many of them into what I do/make. One of my favorite aesthetics to implement into things I make is a more understated/sleeper aesthetic that focuses on functionality over all else. I would say this kind of aesthetic(s) speaks to me because I’m a more reserved and introverted person who doesn’t like to really bring attention to himself or stand out. I also like to implement…

Blog Post 6: Solwave

Coming up with “my own personal aesthetic” was definitely more of a challenge than I imagined. After looking through pages and pages of aesthetics I found a few that personally grabbed my attention the most, so before getting into mine, I’d like to discuss some of the major movements it draws from. The first major movement my aesthetic is drawn from is minimalism, especially in fashion, and home / workspace design. Minimalism is easily the biggest inspiration I’ll talk about as it definitely seeps into…

Final Project Plan: Retro Futuristic Alarm Clock

For my final project, I will design and build an alarm clock based on the aesthetic of late 70’s futuristic and science fiction design. The modern product design of the 70’s was very sleek and minimalistic, as pictured in the cover photo [1], while the science fiction of the time portrayed technology as over-engineered and rugged whilst still being dated and very analog. The set designs of the films Star Wars and Alien are representative of this. “Death Star Control Panel”, Star Wars (1977) [2] “Nostromo Flight…

Maritime Aesthetic Puzzle Box Plans

I like boats. Specifically, I love the look of old wooden sailing ships like the ones in Pirates of the Caribbean. I’ve been thinking of making a model ship since the beginning of this semester, and after some quick research found the name of the aesthetic that fits my idea: the maritime aesthetic. The above image is a wall tapestry with an image fitting the maritime aesthetic that I found on Amazon. The aesthetic is characterized by having lots of boat-related items, as well as…

Final Project Plans and Inspiration- Amplifier Face Plate

For my final design project I am going to make an aluminum amplifier face plate. I decided on this because my dad is an audiophile and has always enjoyed high end audio equipment. Since the equipment is so expensive, it not only has to sound amazing, but look and feel amazing. This means all of the cases are made out of machined aluminum that is either sandblasted or anodized and a lot of thought went into the design of the face plate which is what…

Arcade or Orrery

For my final project, I’m having a hard time deciding if I want to make an arcade or an orrery; Both of these projects I’ve wanted to make before but have stopped for either not having access to machines, expense, or more recently distracted by school. An arcade is fairly easy to make, with a raspberry-pi or more powerful computer I can download Retropie and quickly be capable of emulating arcade games, aswell as games from a multitude of consoles including the Nintendo Entertainment System,…

My Aesthetic and Tensegrity Sculpture Plans

My personal aesthetic is not something I think about too often, but if I were to sum it up, I would include the mixed concepts of minimalism, functionable, sporty, and technical. I am drawn to aesthetics that have technical or mechanical aspects rather than purely creative and like products that have functionable features on top of looking nice. For example, on the walls of my room I have several mechanical drawings of skiing equipment like bindings and ski poles like the ones shown below. These…

Main Project Inspirations – Celtic Puzzle Box

Since childhood, I’ve always been fascinated with puzzles and mechanical challenges – counterintuitive box openings, linkages, and physical brainteasers to solve have always been of interest to me. I would like to create my own puzzle box which can only be opened in a secret way, and I plan to have the main component of this puzzle be a ball-slide mechanism with an extra twist and unique aesthetic design. This type of mechanism is commonly used in several other puzzle boxes I have seen online…

Rishi Assar Personal Aesthetic, Main Project Plan, and Inspirations

I had some trouble determining what my aesthetic is and I’m not sure this is entirely accurate as my aesthetic has changed a lot throughout the years. As shallow as this may sound, I think a great way of determining one’s aesthetic has to do with the material things they surround themself with from the jewelry and clothing they wear, to what tattoos they have, to what car they drive. Of course, these things can be limited and constrained due to financial considerations but also…

Main Project Plans and Inspirations: Woodwork Aesthetic Jewelry Box

For the final project I want to draw on my liking of minimalism, cozycore, and a woodworking aspect. Due to my tendencies of always keeping my space clean, neat, and arranged I want to make good use of this project and my home space. My father has always been a big inspiration in my life and he has been doing a lot of woodworking at home recently. He has made these minimal style wooden cabinets, storage shelves in our garage and closets, and even a…

Blossoming Lotus Deck Box, My Main Project Plans

For my main project, I plan to make a lotus blossom shaped deck box for Magic the Gathering Cards. The dynamic component of this project is that as the box opens, the flower blossoms to reveal the cards contained inside. This means that the outer housing of the box will be composed of multiple layers of overlapping petals joined to a vertically actuating base plate. This method of actuation seems the most feasible and was inspired by this Blooming Flower Night Light from Make Magazine.…

Main project plans and inspiration- RGB art / 3D red blue effects

Works by https://www.carnovsky.com/works.htm Carnovsky is a Milan based art and design duo comprised of Francesco Rugi and Silvia Quintanilla My notebook Carnovsky create and exhibit their unique style of art under different lighting colors and conditions revealing and hiding different aspects of their work. Layering different compositions with different tinted colors, making the magic happen when it interacts with the lighting and your perception. This art style uses some of the same basic principles used in ‘low tech’ 3D imaging (like the red and blue…

Main Project Inspirations: Generative/organic design

If one thing I have clear about the Main Project is that I will design a manual press of some kind. First I was attracted by old machinery design (industrial revolution aesthetic) but after a while I switched my interest towards the organic/generative design that has lately been possibly done thanks to computation. In fact, what I loved about the Industrial Revolution machinery aesthetic is its organic shapes. I have been always attracted for art-noveau nature shapes and also by nature itself. If we look…

Functional Aesthetic

I would say my personal aesthetic is very broad and depends on my environment a lot, but the one common thread is that I put a lot of focus into functionality and usually this equates to comfort. I am not too concerned with looking “good” as much as I am feeling comfortable while still meeting the function and expectations of the situation. I often weary baggy clothing, layers, accessories like a beanie, and comfortable shoes like sneakers. Even at work, I will wear neutral and…

Himachal-Inspired Textile Sculpture

Major Project Plan Introduction Achieving an exciting colorful aesthetic is my primary objective for the final project. For all my life I’ve been drawn to colorful clothes and vibrant, mixed patterns. Wearing polka dots along with stripes and organic patterns at the same time never seemed like a clash to me, although the more conservatively-dressed farmers around me would always comment on my terrible fashion sense. It was popular in my rural home to wear blue jeans along with brown and white shirts, and if…

Main Project Plans + Inspiration

I have a difficult time defining my own aesthetic, as it feels like a very fluid combination of several different concepts. If I were to narrow it down, I’d say my aesthetic is a combination of tech, nature, metro, and retro. Partially, this comes from a respect/longing for past decades, possibly due to my exposure to music such as the Beatles, Billy Joel, and Bob Dylan at a young age. Furthermore, I’ve always had interest in technology through video games and several other facets. I…

Digital Picture Frame for Images and Videos

My name is Luke Carey, I am from Massachusetts and I would say that my personal aesthetic is a combination of many things. For instance I have  been interested in sneakers and shoes since I was in the 6th grade, which as I got older led to an interest in fashion in general. But since I am an engineer, I grew an interest in architecture and furniture design as well. Some of my favorite aesthetics are mid century modern furniture, travel, Japanese clothing, workwear and…

Main Project Plans and Inspiration

What is your personal aesthetic? The aesthetic that I have been running with thus far is spacecore, and previously it was retro-futurism. Both of these aesthetics share some qualities: some retro-futuristic artworks could be considered spacecore as well. The reason I switched is because the retro-futurism aesthetic requires that I include artwork with the style of the early-mid 90s, and I don’t have much talent when it comes to drawing, especially replicating a style. That being said, the space race and the emerging concepts of…

Main Project Plans – Contemporary Desk Lamp

For my final project, I’m aiming to create a contemporary desk lamp. I’ll be constructing the lamp in a contemporary aesthetic, with a few mid-century modern cues. My design will in general follow the key aspects of contemporary styling, mainly being minimalist, sleek, and highlighting material choice prominently. I also want to incorporate aspects of the mid-century modern aesthetic through my material choice, which will be wood. Contemporary and mid-century modern will go great together for my project and its desired aesthetic since contemporary design…

Main Project Plans and Inspiration – Watch Winder Minimalist

I currently have two ideas for my final artifact. The first idea is a watch winder. A watch winder rotates and simulates the effect of wearing a watch. It prevents the watch from using its power reserve, as a result, your watch is always ready to be worn. Watch winders work with automatic winding watches. I have two watches and if I don’t wear them for a few days, they need to be manually reconfigured. I want to solve this problem, without purchasing a watch…

Main Project Plan and Inspiration – Electronic candle as Night-light

(An example of Night-light for kids on Amazon:https://www.amazon.com/One-Fire-Birthday-Teenage-Squishy/dp/B0836V6S4R/ref=sr_1_20?c=ts&keywords=Night-Lights&qid=1678224685&s=lamps-light&sr=1-20&ts_id=3736651) (https://www.amazon.com/CHWARES-Multicolor-Breathing-Bedroom%EF%BC%8CUSB-Rechargeable/dp/B07NW8ZM3M) I’m still not sure what my main project will look like this semester, the clue is to make a device or decoration that will change over time. Maybe a fake candle that will gradually switch the light by the changing of daylight. Or a digital clock that can do the same thing above. My inspiration is from daily life because I recently have come across some night lights, which said the frequency of light can help…

My Aesthetic and Building a Nightstand with It

Growing up, I was surrounded by many influences. As they pertain to my personal aesthetic, I place them into 5 categories: dedication to craft, resourcefulness, regard for tradition, openness to outside influence, and love of nature. When I was little, both my parents worked and I spent a lot of time with my grandparents. They lived in a Chicago Bungalow built by my grandfather’s family, who had a construction business back in the mid-1900s. Though it was never his job, my grandfather was a lifelong…

Personal Aesthetic & Main Project

It is no secret that I am a very sentimental person, as the clothes I wear and even some of the tattoos I have represent shows/video games that I enjoyed as a child. Things like walking past my freshman dorm or having my “last first day” as a college student always emit some kind of emotional response, and I don’t think I’ll be changing that part of me anytime soon.  So when it came to my final project, I thought it would be fitting to…

Main Project Plans: Skateboard Deck

For my final project, I plan on making my own skateboard deck using a homemade press and mold. I’ve loved skateboarding for many years now and have dreamt of making my own board since the first year I stepped on a board. In middle school, I had created a small deck out of a 3/4″ sheet of plywood but unsurprisingly, it had no lateral concave or kicks and did not ride well at all. This time I will be doing it the right way. Decks…

Personal Aesthetic & Main Project Plan

I never really had to think what my personal aesthetic is before this post. I believe my aesthetic would fall into cozycore and simplistic. I always like to dress well but make sure I’m comfortable to go through the whole day in what I’m wearing. I am also very simplistic in my personality and i figure that transferred into what i wear. I tend to wear basic clothing that do not have major designs on the front or back. If i wear something with a…

Main Final Project Plans: Double Pendulum Violin

This final project revolves around the idea of the double pendulum. I am interested in this design because of the interesting dynamic component. These designs are usually incorporated as desk toys. This design is very dynamic and will require a lot of precision in order to make sure things balance the way that I want it to. As seen in the picture below, is a plan for what the final design will look like This design will go after a realism aesthetic. I want it…

Personal Aesthetic and Main Project Direction

I guess I would describe my personal aesthetic as minimalist and understated. I generally only wear one or two muted colors, preferably without many graphics outside of simple patterns. I avoid wearing logos, text-heavy clothing, and bright colors. I don’t generally have any other adornments except maybe a simple small necklace or bracelet. I think this is motivated by two things: not wanting to draw attention, and climbing all the time. I’m really not a big fan of crowds, and wearing muted colors without patterns…

An Uncertain Aesthetic

Aesthetics have always been hard for me. I never particularly cared about my appearance, and, while I have certainly made leaps and bounds in choice of clothing and furniture since my youth, I am still certainly not an aesthetically inclined individual. This likely comes from the influences I had growing up, as well as my tendency to “like what I like”, despite clashes that may arise. My largest influences upon appearance growing up were my family members, as well as the media I consumed. With…
