In this, my last semester of college, I’m just hoping to gain as much knowledge as I can before I start the next chapter.  At this point I’m just trying to expose myself to as much as I can, which was my main motivation for taking this class.  Even at this early stage in the semester I’ve already learned a lot of things that I never would have come across if not for this class.

I’m in Navy ROTC and I’ve already been selected to be a pilot, so upon graduation I’ll head to flight school down in Florida.  Being a pilot for the US is what I wanted to do for my first job, and was the reason I transferred to CU.  I think I’d like to either fly jets (F/A-18) or helicopters (MH-60).

As for my dream job, I think being an astronaut would be pretty cool, but that’s a long shot I’m taking things one step at a time.

  • In terms of trying to become an astronaut, I would highly talking to the professor for “introduction to human space flight”. He is a retired astronaut and knows a few tricks of the trade for getting in. Hope this helps.

  • Congratulations on flight school selection. I’ll bet that makes its hard to stay motivated with an exciting chapter awaiting. It’s hard to imagine aesthetics having great importance in the military but it has to be factored in somehow. Any specific skills or knowledge you want?

P.S. You should definitely go rotary wing.
