For my lazy susan project, I planned out in my timeline post that everything would take me about a week to do.  This weekend, I made the proper cuts into my top piece of wood to give it that hollowed out center so that I will be able to place my items on it.  I plan on staining the wood sometime this week, so that I can get a good start on making sure that it is the correct color and darkness that I want it to be.  I will then start tracing flowers on it to make sure I have enough time to finish.

ToDo:

  1. Stain the wood
  2. Trace flowers onto wood
  3. Decide if I want to put a can on the lazy susan to store smaller things
  4. Glue the wood onto my turn table.

I am on track to finish early and will have time to go back over my work.

This sounds like a really cool project! I like the idea of doing flower designs. You seem to have everything well planned out. I’m looking forward to see the final product.

Making a Lazy Susan is such a superb idea. Way to be ahead of the game! I am excited to see the flower designs you add to to the wood. What will you use to trace the flowers?

What are you using to stain the wood? Have you looked at different types of stains for different finishes? Seems like you’ll be done with a bit more work! It’s always good to have some time to go over the project and have the opportunity to refine it!
