To this point I have stayed close to the schedule that I wanted to keep for my project. However I am very busy and my schedule will be hectic for the last 4 weeks of time for the project so I want to space my work out evenly over this time.

week 1: Obtain all materials and finish laser cutting wood

Week 2: Finish body assembly

Week 3: Install dynamic button components

Week 4: Last minute fixes, get ready to present

This looks like a pretty effective plan for building a successful saxophone. One thing that is very important when building an instrument is the testing phase, because achieving the right sound can take a lot of trial and error. It seems like with this plan, you would have a week for testing and final changes so that seems well accounted for.

This sounds like a well thought out plan! It is a good idea to take into account that the time to actually design/build anything always takes a lot longer then expected.

  • It is good to see goals set out on a week by week basis to complete your project. It might be a good idea to give time estimates for how long tasks will take to complete. Since you are busy, it might help out in the long run.

Looks like you have a good idea as to when your project is going to be built! I really like the way you’ve mixed up the timeline, each week has a specific goal set in mind that will allow you to stay focused on one part of the project at a time. I do think you could go into a little more detail as to what exactly needs to get done in order to accomplish your weekly goals though. Good job overall and good luck with completing your project!
