As I discussed in my previous blog posts my inspiration behind my upcycle project is based on this T-shirt.

My product will most likely just be a plain white tee with a white draw string. I am most likely going to sew from the outside of the shirt because I am into the urban type of look, like torn jeans.

This design idea came from a guy who would wear a shoe lace belt because of the aesthetic that it gave. I also used to wear a shoe lace belt but they aren’t very practical. This shirt allows you to wear a belt but only have the draw strings showing.

  • Super cool idea, however, I don’t understand the specific type of aesthetic that you are going for with this type of shirt. Can you please elaborate a bit more on the aesthetic that you are going for and if this will impact your upcycle project.

    Hello Jared,

Great post. Do you have an idea of how to sew? I am concerned that if you don’t know how to sew that this project will turn out much more difficult to complete. In addition, where do you plan on getting the upcycled T-shirt from? Do you have old T-shirts sitting around? I think that this is a cool idea in relation to an upcycle project because you are trying to create fashion which is generally expensive from something that is reused.
