My background is in mechanical engineering with a focus in thermal fluids simulations. I have had a part in a whole host of random projects, from wearable electronics to optimization. My freshman year I was super into incorporating Arduino’s into wearable electronics for sports and entertainment purpose. Since then I have spent my time working in Linux environments creating numerical simulations of fluid flow. I also love painting, from watercolor to stencil I enjoy expressing myself through

Most of the types of project I am interested in have some sort of coding that go along with the process. Whether it is using an Arduino or creating a simulation, I think using computers is a skill that I would like to explore.

My last project (kintsugi) had an enormous impact on how I view design, and I think it could be a practice I continue to explore for my final project.

  • Hey Owen. I really enjoyed your upcycle project and I look forward to working with you in the final project. I hope we can implement some interesting aesthetics to convey our interest in mechanical engineering. More specifically, I think we can implement some coding in the final project.

Hi Owen, I too have a ME background, though we definitely focus on different things. It’s really cool how interested you are coding and incorporating that into your projects. And it’s great that you want to keep learning and expanding that skill set. Coding is definitely not my strong suit and I admire those that do have that passion.

I love that you have a set direction in ME that you focus on and wish to improve on. You definitely have worked on many great projects that helped improve your skills. I would have liked from you to expand more on your aspirations and how do you plan on achieving them? And how does aesthetics connect to them?
