I created a floor lamp refrencing the Bauhaus aestetic. Characteristics of this aestetic I incorporated were simplicity, geometric shapes, industrial materials and color. I started my design process by sketching out this concept. Then I created this lamp in Solidworks and created an engineering drawing for each part. I took these drawings to the machine shop and cut the square steel tubing I had purchased online to length. I then welded all of the pieces together. Next I applied painters tape to sections of the lamp and spraypainted it in stages to achieve the paint job I envisioned.
