Final Stretch: Levitation Stand

For those of you who are unfamiliar with my project, I’m building a levitation stand that uses like poles of magnets to repel another magnet and give the appearance of levitation. I’m actually completely finished with the “meat” of the project, that is I got the magnets to work together to repel another magnet and it appears to be very stable in testing. I’m currently in the process of making an outer shell so that it has the appearance and aesthetic I want it to have. I’m probably going to complete this by this upcoming weekend, and in order to stay on schedule, I will be printing this casing next week.

  • Looks like the most challenging part is done! There are many people doing 3d-printing right now but if you get there early it’s guaranteed to have a spot, good luck!

Progress sounds really solid. It’s obviously very important that the magnets repel in a stable manner. I am excited to see what some of the casings look like; that will really help us see the aesthetic of the project.
