  • Still one of my favourite projects in the class! The black background really brightens the colors on the pizza and give it a tasty and comic look.
    Great work!

Great job on your presentation, and with your project overall! I really like the aesthetic and think it is a fun choice. It was interesting hearing about your concept, and then to see how the final project came out. Great job!

  • The night stand turned out really nice. With the unique combination of the pizza aesthetic and a triangular night stand, I’m sure nothing like this existed before. The presentation outlined the process pretty well, and the progress was well documented in a chronological, story-telling format. You ran into constraints with the shelf hinge, legs, and the paint, but it looks like you worked around it pretty well. I hope you can use this night stand in the future, and have a great explanation for it for years to come!

I really love your project! I think it is funny how you were motivated by the lack of 90 degree corners in your room and needed a bed stand to fill a void that your pillows would always fall into. Your presentation was fantastic. You went into depth about your building process (and acknowledged your grandfather for restoring the saws you used, which was really cool), sanding, varnishing, painting, and where you’re at with the legs. I would recommend using the legs that you have instead of the dowels. Just drill three holes into the bottom of your pizza and call it good! I also love your idea about finalizing your project with a motion activated light. Overall, great job! I can’t wait to see your project at expo!

I really like the way that this is coming together and it will be cool to see how the legs of the stand stick in. The surreal effect of the legs on the pizza gives the table a super unique perspective that really makes the table. It would be really cool to see how the light would change the feel of the pizza. The hinge sounds interesting and i am glad to see that you were able to escape the challenge of mounting the hinges. This came out really well for such a low budget and only several paint colors. nice work on your presentation and showing the whole process of building this project.

Those angles look kind of difficult to cut. How did you actually measure the lengths and the angles that you needed? Glad to see that you only spent 10$ on the project. It looks very good for only spending 10 dollars! I think Professor Hertzberg’s suggestion about the blocks is a good idea. And I think that the drawing of the pizza accomplishes what you need. It isn’t supposed to make you think you are sleeping next to a giant piece of pizza. It is supposed to kind of look like a pizza. I like it.

I think that your project is really sweet, I like how you stuck with your pizza aesthetic as it is super unique and just plain rad. I am super impressed that you were able to finish this project at 10$, so good job scavenging for supplies and sticking with your design. You definitely achieved your aesthetic of pizza, and I think using the two different colors of paint works well, no need to go out and expand your paint selection.
