Upcycle Progress Report – Organic Architecture

For the progress on my upcycle project I have finished creating a base for my miniature model house I plan on making. It is made using recycled cardboard from a UPS shipping box as well as a tissue box. I used the UPS box carboard as the landscape and cut multiple different layers to simulate the varying height in the environment. I used the blue cardboard on the tissue box to make the river bed. I plan to incorporate a broken flower pot that I have into the river to look like ripples and flowing water. I plan to make the house out of more carboard and use some kind of wood scrap as supports. I am still in the deciding stage of what to use as a nature element which I will decide soon.

Materials Used:

  • Cardboard: Tissue Box and UPS box
  • Hot glue sticks

I really like the direction you’re headed with this. I like that you found blue cardboard for the river. Are you planning on painting the cardboard or adding some kind of texture to the piece, or are you mainly planning on letting the cardboard carry the piece? I’m excited to see how this turns out!
