Post 8: Specifications and Restraints

For the specifications, I want my cushion to look like a giant tomato pin cushion, I want it to feel like a soft stool with a little give (not too much, I still want people to sit on it and not sink to the floor.) When asking what it does, it is a floor pouf, you sit on it. The project will succeed if I make a cushion that looks like a tomato pin cushion that is comfortable to sit on.  My priorities are making the project look good and feeling comfortable.

For the constraints, some of the most glaring problems will probably be my health, since I have been constantly overworking my wrist and having to take extended breaks as to not aggravate the injury, which is linked to time and my worry that I will not finish in time, so I will have to plan out the project accordingly. Another problem I may run into is simply not having enough stuffing to completely fill the cushion. I am using fabric and yarn scraps that I have collected recently to fill the pouf, so I am not sure if I have enough.

    Hi Lily,
I really like the aesthetic choice of your project. It’s visually appealing and keeping the functionality like a floor pouf is very creative. Sorry to hear about your wrist, I wish you a speedy recovery and am eager to see your tomato cushion. Are there any upholstery tools or equipment you could use to take the strain off your wrist?.

Sorry to hear your wrist is still acting up. Do you think there’s a way to do the project or some variation of it that doesn’t involve as much wrist strain? Regardless, I’m excited to see what you come up with!
