For this electric car design project, we started with a few initial sketches, but they felt a bit too basic. We shifted toward a sharper, more angular concept to give the car a faster, more aggressive presence. Taking inspiration from the look of a shark, we aimed for a design that felt both sleek and slightly intimidating, while still clearly electric.
We primarily used cardboard for the build, assembling the structure with hot glue. Alongside the physical model, we also created a 3D version in Onshape to better visualize the design in three dimensions. As the project progressed, we refined the form by adding more defined angles, reinforcing the structure, and incorporating key features like the windshield.
The final model reflects that original vision, with bold, angular elements and a strong, energetic aesthetic. We also added details like a light bar and a custom emblem (which ended up looking a bit like a bow tie). Overall, I’m really happy with how it turned out and enjoyed collaborating with my team throughout the process.
