Electric Car Design

Our group chose two inspirations for designing a new electric car. Those were Wall-E and Tron. Using aspects of both those movies we created our final design for the front of an electric car.

Electric Car Design : Unrulr

Of our many ideas, the most important one was wanting strips of light pretty much everywhere. From headlights to the hood, even on the wheels. We created a split wheel design which would incorporate two wheels side by side, with light shining through the middle. The design of the headlights is mean to be the shape of Wall-E’s hands draped onto the hood of the car. Obviously, the headlights incorporated his eyes to bring the whole design together.

For our wheelbase we wanted to think about what would make sense for our design, so we went with the idea of extruding the wheels outside of the car to create a dune buggy like off roading look. I think this design fits well with the boxy aesthetic of the rest of the car. With mostly straight edges everywhere else, we could limit the size and impact of the actual wheelbase by fully leaning into the off-road look.
