For my final project, I chose to create an industrial-style shoe rack. It consists of two 2″ x 10″ x 48″ planks of wood attached to black iron pipe frames, with strap ties attached to the back to keep it from shearing from side to side. It not only serves as a shoe rack, but also as a shelf or a TV stand. The shoe rack exhibits the industrial aesthetic in the following ways:
1. Slightly unfinished wood (I applied 3 layers of minwax to still give it a nice polish)
2. Black iron pipe fittings
3. Visible fasteners
4. Strap ties
