The project was my take on an Upcycled Lamp. I decided to go for a Surrealist aesthetic by incorporating fingers growing towards the light, and a base complete with impossible triangles. This process required careful deconstruction of the original piece, which was an antique watering can. The processes included the use of a dremel, belt sander, and bandsaw to carefully cut out and shape its parts into fingers. The base was carefully measured to ensure its symmetry, and the lightbulb was installed on a socket and wired through the base of the lamp. This piece symbolizes the tenents of surrealism by including parts of the human body in an extraodinary situation which hopefully imparts the viewer with a sense of awe, bringing more thought into their everyday lfie.
