For my final project, I wanted to challenge myself with a material that demands more patience and technique but offers far greater freedom of form: clay. I used the opportunity to explore one of my favorite aesthetics — Surrealist Whimsy, drawn from the world of Adventure Time. The goal was to create something with intentionally strange proportions that feels lifelike but not quite realistic, with just enough detail to feel expressive while preserving that loose, cartoon quality. That vision came to life in the form of an incense smoker — a functional object that felt like the perfect canvas for this kind of playful, imaginative design.
What I love most about this aesthetic isn’t just the bright, inviting colors — it’s the way it opens the door to imagination. There are no rigid rules, no strict sense of reality to adhere to, just a space that encourages you to think outside the box and let your creativity run wild.
