And the Angel said unto them BE NOT AFRAID.
Behold, in its almightiness, an Angel of biblical depiction and orientation as my final project. For context, in some religious texts, angels have been described as not a personification but rather as complex entities with folding rings, eyes, and wings. Renaissance art has its own approaches to biblical angels.
The biblical angelic aesthetic I’m describing is partially trying to design in a way that hits the ‘ever-folding’ or ‘beyond comprehension’ aspect of divinity. This sensation could also be described as ‘almighty’.

If you stare hard enough into the iris, you can feel the gaze of all-encompassing judgement. Seriously, take a good long look, as the rings almost start rotating on their own. The biblically accurate angel has four interlocking and fully rotatable bearing-rings and six degrees of motion in total including the eye that pivots in its socket. Giving near infinite orientations to set the rings so that you may feel judged in whatever direction you like. The idea is to position your own head into the direction of the eye for the full effect. Super enjoyable to fidget with as well, it will live as the almighty protector of my desk.

This is done by tying into cleanness, purity and heavenly vibes that you might expect of an angelic thing via primarily white with blue undertones. So, minimalism is a critical component in order to pull in attention into the center of the piece. My approach is to design and build my own custom rings/bearings that interlock in a cascading fashion that is manipulatable with your hand, creating a gyroscopic effect that is meant to have somewhat unpredictable movement.
