Alcohol Stove Update 4/6/16

In the last week I came down with a severe case of Strep throat and haven’t made quite as much progress as I would have liked; however, I did make another prototype stove. My most recent prototype follows my aesthetic choice a bit better by being more refined and having a cleaner look.

The interior ribbed piece has proven to be rather difficult to perfect, but I have been making improvements. As I narrow in on refining the interior piece, the small gap at the top edge of the stove should subside and allow for a more precise fit. In the coming week I plan on attaching a pot stand and something to control temperature to one of my prototypes.

Looks like you are getting close to that minimalist aesthetic. Although its not perfect I really like the look of the ribbed interior. I’m not sure it’s possible but you might consider rolling the edge of the outer shell over the interior piece to get rid of the gap you are seeing.

your prototype looks good, do you feel you need another/other prototype/s and what you would improve? It’s my 1st time reading your post so I wish if you named the your aesthetic so that new audience can follow, but how is this new prototype better following the aesthetic? All in all, your project looks interesting looking forward to expo!

  • Hope you feel better now! I know being sick around finals time can especially suck. The refinement looks good has a nice clean stainless steel look to it. Did you machine, or use hand tools to make this part of the design?
