Cyber Netcore Fashion

I’m creating a cyber netcore fashion collection that breathes new life into discarded technology. My pieces will transform electronic waste into wearable art.

Key Pieces

The centerpiece is a tactile vest adorned with salvaged keyboard keys arranged in mesmerizing patterns. I’m experimenting with attachment methods – either threading them with durable string to create movement and an almost wind-chime effect as you walk, or securing them firmly with industrial adhesive for a more architectural statement. The vest is embellished with fractured CD fragments and circuit board components that catch and reflect light, creating an ever-changing technological texture that responds to your environment.

I’m hand-weaving colorful recycled wires for the headwear into psychedelic, neural network-inspired patterns.

Concept

By wearing these pieces, you become a walking art installation that invites reflection on our complex relationship with technology. These outdated components – once cutting-edge but now obsolete – find a second life as fashion, preserving digital history while creating something entirely new and wearable.

This cyber netcore approach transforms electronic detritus into powerful fashion statements that challenge our notions of waste and value, past and future. Each piece carries the memory of its former function while embracing a new aesthetic purpose.

Contrasting Aesthetic Directions

I’m developing two distinct aesthetics within the collection:

Western Frontier – A western-inspired approach will be a very traditional western wear you would normally see. If I incorporated technologyinto it, it would still look wildly different.

Neo-Minimalist – A formal-clean aesthetic where technological elements add structure and minimalism. Clean lines, monochromatic color schemes, and precise geometric arrangements transform chaotic electronic waste into ordered beauty.

Hi Nita, I think this project has amazing potential with the mix of upcycling and fashion. I think that if you still have yet to decide, the stringed-together look of the keys would add to the cybernetcore look and the overall ‘reflection’ concept of the piece. Do you plan on making the back and front of the vest identical? As well as do you plan on putting LEDs into the hat?
