Ben Erickson Portfolio

This semester in Aesthetics in Design, I learned a lot about designing something with an appearance primarily in mind. My two very unique projects are described below, with all posts created over the course of the semester linked for more in-depth details.

Cyberpunk Stereoscope

For my upcycle project, where we made something out of primarily reused materials, I create a Holmes stereoscope with a cyberpunk aesthetic in mind. The stereoscope works as planned, although I will need to add more gizmos to it in the future to achieve a fully cyberpunk vibe.

Nyctous Acrylic Tunnel Book

For my final project, I spent a lot of time devising an aesthetic not previously named, and then crafted a tunnel book scene of layered frosted acrylic panels, lit by dynamic LEDs. This project contained no practical function, but I am happy with the visual style I was able to replicate into a new form
