Upcycle: Wild West Jewelry Box

This is my Upcycle Project! I chose the Wild West Aesthetic, and I wanted to create a Jewelry Box. I upcycled wood from a baseboard, an old jewelry box for structure, and another scrap of wood. The process initially involved using a scroll saw to cut the joints of all of the baseboard pieces. Once they were cut, I laser cut and engraved texture and words into the sides of the jewelry box saloon as well as the patio. Once the patterns for the general outside were created, The rest of it was just glued together around the jewelry box for structure. The last cool aspect of this project was the saloon doors. It would have been great to make them move, but that wasn’t really that useful for the purpose of a jewelry box. I simply cut out the doors with a scroll saw, and gave them a “saloon look” with some popsicle sticks glued at an angle.
