Skill Sets and Aspirations

Greetings! My name is Emma and I am a fourth-year undergraduate in mechanical engineering born and raised in Colorado. Given the dynamic world that we live in, I find it incredibly important to have a wide variety of skills along with a relentless drive for improvement. I have spent the last four years working to learn new skills in engineering, but I feel as if I haven’t had much of an opportunity to broaden my horizons since most of our classes have a core focus.…

Jeff’s Skills

Hey Guys, I didn’t know the best way to write all of this down so I made some handy bullet pointed lists based on my experience or knowledge in each skill. Even if I am partially proficient in something, I will probably  be able to point you to someone who does know it. This, I consider is one of my greatest skills. I also put some cool skills that probably won’t be at all applicable to the project but maybe you will enjoy reading them.…

Here to help: Dan Moody’s Skillset

My best skill is a willingness and readiness to get in there and help you with anything. If we don’t have a skill or need to learn new things, thats the whole point of education right? I can definitely put in the time to do this. As a mechanical engineering graduate student in the design program I’m definitely interested in design and can help bounce ideas around and help with the design process as a whole. A run down of other skills and familiarities are below.…

Ethan Gehring: I have a very particular set of skills…

… Skills I have acquired over 5 years of engineering school.  Skills that make me a dream for teammates like you. Seriously though,  I would consider myself an above average 3D modeler across multiple programs.  I have experience with both FEA, specifically Abaqus , and CFD, Solidworks and Star CCM. I have also done a fair amount of 3D printing, machine shop work, and circuit design.  Where I am likely to stand out as a mechanical engineer is my fondness for coding.  I completed a…

Ashley’s Skills

The featured image is a picture I took while machining some copper parts I made for a scientific rocket payload. I programmed the Prototrak CNC in the Idea Forge Shop to produce the parts.   A corner desk I’m in the process of finishing. I’ve had a lot of experience building and manufacturing things over the years. I’m pretty confident in my manufacturing and crafting skills. This list consists of things I’ve had a lot of experience with and am comfortable doing. I’ll admit there’s always more I can learn on these…

Roshan’s Skills

I’m a mechanical engineer by training, so I am fairly strong in most of the typical mechanical and engineering things. Here’s a list of some of my engineering skills: I’ve had several internships and projects which have given me hundreds of hours on nearly every professional CAD program, specifically SolidWorks, so I can definitely help with that. I’ve done a fair bit of machining on metal and plastics using mills, lathes, bandsaws, etc. I’m trained on the laser cutters in the ITLL and also have…

Jakob’s Skills

As far as engineering student credentials go, I’m confident in my SolidWorks Skills, and slightly less confident in my Inventor skills.  I’m very confident in my Matlab abilities, and am pretty good with all of the standalone ITLL station equipment (function generator, oscilloscope, power supply).  I’m in mechatronics this semester, so I’m feeling pretty fresh on my circuits skills as well. I worked in maintenance for a few summers, so I’m pretty good at painting walls, replacing air filters, changing toilet seats, and spackling.  I…
