I am very impressed with your final product. The woodworking details that you added with the router really added a nice look to the overall aesthetic. I also like how you designed it in a way that you did not need screws or nails to hold any of it together. I think adding a bearing or motor would be a great idea to reduce friction.
I think the overall project construction is excellent. All of your edges matched up very nicely and using the router around the edges gave it a great finished look. The main wheel design was very cool and the octagonal shape really added to your amish aesthetic because it almost reminded me of a windmill a bit. Your choice of using red wood and pine was great and I like how it was all color coordinated and well planned out. Its a bummer it didnt rotate as freely as you were hoping, but I think if you added a few bearings and a metal shaft like you mentioned, it would be much smoother. Great work!
I like the aesthetic that you decided to go with. The hammers were a nice size and I liked their vintage look. It’s too bad you couldn’t get the design to function all that well. I liked learning more about Da Vinci also.
Its a shame that it isn’t as functional as you were hoping for it to be, but I do enjoy he aesthetic that you made out of this. Normally these machines are more modern or industrial looking, but I like how you have sent it back into the medieval times. Good job with the construction and aesthetic, it would be fun to find a way to get this guy functional.
I like the size of the hammers, good choice. The wood is really clean and has a very good finishing. The pieces look like they fit very well together and the idea is presented clearly. Have you considered painting it? That woukd give it a different looking finish in my opinion. Thanks a lot!
