Barn Door Update

I have made some progress taking the pallets apart and laying out the wood slats in a pattern that I like. I have become a bit concerned that the big, solid wood door will make the already small space seem even more confining. My original idea had been to incorporate some stained glass or something to provide a sense of space or openness. Painting the wood, which was plan B, can give it more visual interest but likely won’t help make the space seem larger or more welcoming. I’m still investigating solutions.

You might paint or stain the wood a light color. While whitewash is really ‘country’, you could try that. Using stained glass would be really cool, too. You could even combine painting the door with a stained glass window. Best of luck!
