Skill Set and Personal Aspirations

The technical skills I’ve learned from engineering school as well as the personable skills acquired from past experiences make me a well-rounded individual. I am an effective communicator and an excellent listener. I think the key to a successful group comes from having the right attitudes and actions from each team member. I am also very organized, hardworking, and respectable so I can be a valuable teammate.

Upon graduating this may of 2017, in Mechanical Engineering, I am going to take a month break to travel and rest before starting the work grind in mid-June. I am currently looking for a full time position in product development because I am passionate about designing and building products from the ground up and thrive on the fact that something I’ve designed (or helped design) could be put into full-scale production.

It’s nice to hear about skill sets that allow you to be a constructive part of a cohesive group but you are still able to bring your organizational and other skills to the table to distinguish yourself. Taking time off to travel is going to be a great time before delving into product design. Why do you like having an influence on products that could be put into production?

  • I admire you for taking some time after school to rest. I also think product development is a great focus and think you will really like it there! Have you developed any of your own products?
