Top 5 Constraints: Makeshift Moon Shoes

My top 5 constraints in designing my makeshift constraints include:

  1. Budget
  2. Material integrity (would my shoes retain their structure after being subject to the stress of the elastic bands?)
  3. Material availability (are there elastic bands that would conform to the dimensions of the other material?)
  4. Tools (do I have the tools required to make alterations to my footwear the way I need to?)
  5. Aesthetic (how can I make these shoes look like spiders?)

Really cool project idea that reminds me of the shoes I remember playing around with when I was a little kid. As far as the elastic bands go I would look into using some of the physical therapy resistance bands. They come in a variety of resistances and can be cut and tied very easily. Also maybe look into bungee cables. Good luck !
