Top Five Contraints: Boulder Pop-Up Books

As I near the end of my undergraduate education at CU Boulder, I look back at nostalgia. I want to create a pop up book of meaningful days I’ve throughout college in Boulder. Sort of like an origami journal or diary.

My top four constraints (because I can’t think of a fifth) are time, patience, ability, content, and .

Time: Origami takes time, and I micro manage my time.

Patience: Paired well with lack of time, lack of patience could cheapen my book.

Ability: While my fingers are deft and nimble, they can only evade clumsiness for so long.

Content: Will my memories and experience be enough to create origami diagrams?

I’m excited to start!

I like that you kept your constraints simple. This will let you tackle them with more ease. I had not thought of patience, but that is definitely something that I will have to face as well. My plan is to work on the project throughout the next month instead of cramming it in the last minute.

  • I like the idea Morgan! I think that if you start early enough you will be able to overcome your constraints! I need to do the same thing.

These are some constraints I never thought of. It would be nice to hear about what aesthetic you are going for and what kind of constraints that might impose.
