The automotive aesthetic you have achieved is incredibly well done. I like that you were able to reuse an old part and re purpose into this piece. I commend your ambition to choose to use arduino in this project despite having never tried that out before! Reincorporating the Toyota emblem is certainly a nice touch for your project. Also your dynamic piece was super creative. Most folks had something that moved in a standard mechanical fashion so using an LED heart monitor was very fresh. Great work!
This has been a fascinating project to follow! I love the inspiration coming from your friend’s wrecked 1999 Camry. I’m glad to hear he’s ok, then the project itself is so creative! It is definitely inspired by the upcycle event as well. And although you were originally making this into a lamp, you added the heart rate monitor to make the project dynamic, which is awesome as well! You were very brave to do a project knowing you would have to learn Arduino code. Great job on your presentation as well! You went into amazing detail with the whole process, from planning, purchasing, testing, soldering, debugging, cutting, and adding the Toyota emblem, which was a great finishing touch! As a possible future improvement, I really like the idea of adding a small round LCD screen with actual beats per minute in the cam shaft. Overall, fantastic job on this project!
Awesome project! From your sketch that includes all the electrical components, it clear that you put a lot of thought into the aesthetic and function to go for before executing the plan, and I think that really helped making the project progress feel very organized, and the red led through valve cover fits the automotive theme so well.
This is really nice work reusing the valve cover of your coworkers car. I really like the way that you included the toyota valve cover to complete the aesthetic of the overall design. The pulsing lights turned out really well and this was a cool piece to see at expo. Super fortunate that your friends were willing to help you with the code for this project as i feel like that elevated a lot of frustration and time that could have been spent. It would be really cool to see the LED panel that displayed your HR at the same time as the flashing lights. Nice work presenting and overall on the project!
I think that you definitely achieved your aesthetic of a chic automotive item. I am impressed with your project and the amount of work you did with the Arduino and circuits. I have never used Arduino either, so I applaud you for taking on this project, even though you haven’t had much experience with Arduino. I also think that adding the Toyota emblem in the right hand corner puts a nice finishing touch to your design, and completes your aesthetic.
